Battle of Flowers Parades Now on DVD

August 15, 2008

Our films of the Battle of Flowers parades from 1928 to 2005 have been converted to DVD compliments of Matson Multimedia.

The films comprise just part of a large collection donated to the library from the Battle of Flowers Association. The collection also includes documents pertaining to the association, drawings, photographs, as well as artifacts like tickets, advertisements and programs.

Researchers are invited to view the DVDs on library computers. They provide a rare glimpse of downtown San Antonio through time.

Hello! I am looking to purchase photographs taken during the 2005 Battle of the Flowers Parade. To be specific, I’m looking for the ones taken of the St. Edward’s University Ballet Folklorico. The pictures used to be up on your website, but were taken off a few years ago. Are these included in the package along withe DVD?

    Thank-you in advance!

Griselda, you probably need to contact the Battle of Flowers Association directly through their website, http://www.battleofflowers.org/. We are the DRT Library, and our DVDs of the Battle of Flowers Parade are archival and not for sale. We also no longer have the Battle of Flowers Collection here at the library; it was temporarily transferred back the the BoFA to be kept in a separate storage facility. Good luck with your search!
